About Sheri Brimm

Sheri Brimm PT, has lived and worked in Putnam County (Cookeville) TN since 1997, serving the citizens of the Upper Cumberland with excellent physical therapy care. She has over 30 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy, home health, nursing home, schools, and rehabilitation in acute and inpatient rehab hospital settings. She has training and expertise in physical therapy for almost all conditions including stroke and neurological injuries, sports/orthopedic surgeries, joint replacements, back and neck surgeries, scoliosis, whiplash, and many chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, arthritis, and lupus. Sheri Brimm, Physical therapist, also has extensive experience with pediatrics including infants, children, and adolescents.

Sheri specializes in John F Barnes Myofascial Release. She has taken courses taught directly by John Barnes who developed the method and has taught worldwide for over 40 years. MFR is extremely effective in improving posture in infants born with torticollis (twisted neck), and scoliosis (twisted spine), or even cerebral palsy or developmental delays. Children with hyperactivity, autism, and ADHD are calmed by these techniques.

Sheri has reached the “Advanced” Level as a John Barnes Myofascial Release therapist, and has taken the following courses:

Myofascial Release 1 & 2, Cervical-Thoracic, Fascial- Pelvis, Unwinding, Advanced Unwinding, Rebounding, Pediatric MFR, Quantum Leap, Fascial Cranium.
 She has taken Skills Enhancement Seminar with clinical experience gained at John’s clinic, Therapy on The Rocks in Sedona Arizona. Sheri also has taken Women’s Health Seminar and can now do internal treatment for men and women with pelvic pain problems.

Sheri has also completed training in Upledger Institute Cranio-sacral Therapy and has taken CS1, CS2, SER1, and PEDS1, Pregnancy/Childbirth, and Infants with Special Circumstances courses. She has also taken training from Chrysalis Oromyofacial in TOTS (Tethered oral tissues).

Sheri has also completed training, and will soon complete certification process for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy with Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMTinfo.org). These are exercise protocols that can help clients with difficulty with oral breathing / open mouth posture, tongue tie / lip tie, jaw pain, sleep disordered breathing, and other disorders related to the orofacial / jaw and tongue area.
